Looking for winter tires on a SL
Looking for winter tires on a SL
Does anyone have any recommendations on what winter tires I should get for winter?
I live in Toronto, so it's about that time where it starts to snow.
I also wanted to know if changing any rims or tires will affect the tire pressure monitor.
Thanks,

I recently went through this process and below is what I ended up going with.
Tires: General Altimax Arctic 235/45R17
Wheels: Enkei EKM3 Gunmetal
The tires can be studded however I did not go that route. I decided to step down to 17" wheels and tires as this lowered the price of the tire and gave me $$$$ to spend on wheels. I wanted a separate set of wheels and tires for winter. I also really wanted the General tire as I have heard nothing but good about them and they do not make it in 18". In stepping down to 17" the speedometer is off by 2 - 3 MPH but that does not bother me.
In terms of the tire itself I'm happy with how it drives on the highway in dry conditions and very pleased with how they drive in the snow. This is my first set of true winter tires whereas I typically ran all-seasons.
I did not get the TPMS sensors. Because of this the TPMS light stays lit on the dash. I have not seen any other side effect.
Good luck in your search!
