Cash back on special order cars?

Does anyone know if it is possible to take advantage of Nissan's $3,500 cash back on special order cars, or is it only for dealer stock?

I would imagine it's available on any Maxima sold by a dealer during the promotion.

That's a great incentive - 3500 bucks! Hope you can get it. I figured something is going on with these incentives as I spoted 4 different 8th Gen Maximas on the I 294 tollway near Chicago on a 120 mile trip last Saturday. Before this day, I never would see more than one during the same trip.

Heh, funny you should mention that, as I currently live in Chicago! But yeah, I think it's a national thing. Wondering if I hold out til closer to the end of the model year if I can get an even better deal, but this seems pretty good and expires at the end of the month.

Incentives are almost always regional, and are based on inventories in the region. The more days of supply (by model), the higher the incentives.

I'm going to say, most likely NOT for special orders. What's on the lot, or a nearby lot will get incentives (minus additional transport fee to move it) but if you get it built, you may miss out on incentives. That said, I'd call a dealership and ask them how that applies...

And if the deal does not apply to special order cars, I would examine the inventory of all nearby Nissan dealers in case they had what you wanted. That may not be as easy for you as it was for me, as there are 23 Nissan dealerships within a 1 1/2 hour drive of my home. I had mine moved in from several counties away, and they only charged me $100 to do it. But I was not getting the kind of incentive deal you are talking about, so my dealer may have been more motivated to serve me. But then if Nissan is furnishing the money for the deal, maybe your dealer will move a car quite a distance in order to sell it.

I am not seeing as many 8th gens as I expected to see at this point. Maybe one per day, which, with all the Nissan dealers we have around Atlanta, is a little disappointing. I still think this will be like the 7th gen, where I saw very few the first two or three years after they were released, but now see many every day.

It's odd you don't see very many of them, they sell like 5000 a month throughout the US. I see at least 3 or 4 every day on short commutes.

Since you are also in Chicagoland area, be sure to check the dealers out just across the line in Kenosha/Milwaukee area. It does sound like the 3500 bucks is a great lakes regional deal. End of month always brings some sharp deals but as Lightonthehill says, check the local inventories. You should get close to what you want, then add on what the car does not have. Good luck!

I special ordered mine, whatever cash back deals Nissan have at the time of your actual purchase date are honored. It was $3500 when ordering but 2 months wait time it was was down to $3000. Still a fantastic car purchase though.
