Thoughts on Rain-X

What are everyone's thoughts on using Rain-X products?

I was mainly thinking about using, Anti-Fog, especially on the back window. But is there anything I should know? Would it affect the rear heating?

I was also going to use the rain repellant, but what is the difference between the 2-in-1 & the original?

& is Rain-X better than Aquapel or the other way around?

RainX original on exterior of every window, once every month or so, lasts longer in the winter, been a life saver in heavy pours...everyone else doing 1/2 speed with hazards on, I'm able to navigate all traffic conditions like it's dry, can see considerably farther then without.

On the front window I use a very small amount and rub it out really good. If you use to much you get a buildup where the wipers stop...may even get chatter. I'm finally using the rainx blades too (the expensive ones, not the base model), wanted to see how well they do with the stuff on the window. So far no problem, but only a few weeks in and no major rain. Little buildup, but I figure that's normal with these out of the box since they have some stuff on the blades. Should get less apparent with more use I expect.

I used Rain X once and never will again. Perhaps it was because I was in South Texas with the salt air and muck, but I always had a crappy film on the windshield that would not come off. The muck stuck to the Rain X.

I tried every trick I read online to try to remove the Rain X, and it would not come off of the windshield. I actually replaced the windshield so that I could see out before the car warmed up.

I have used Rain X on a few occasions, always loved the look. Never had the clarity problem that Mason encountered.

It's always worked for me. Heck I've driven without wipers before it works so well.

Windshield yes! They key is to start with a very clean windshield and buff it off until there is no haze... It makes the wipers glide so much nicer and last much longer.
Personally was not a fan of the anti-fog.... Guess it all depends on the climate you drive in. It is definitely a commitment as the stuff is on for a while.

Try using alcohol prep pads to clean your wiper blades 1st. You will be shocked at the dirt that is removed. It took 4 pads to clean both my wiper blades. As mentioned earlier, clean the winshield thoroughly, then use the Rainx. never had any build up issues here.
