Already going in for repair on door light
Got my new 17 Maxima SR in late February. Already taking it in for a interior issue repair in less than 3 months. Opened up the passenger side front door and the light on the inside of the base of the door just fell out and was dangling by the electrical cord. I was able to wedge it back in. Took it into the dealership this morning and they have to order parts for the repair.
I know it's a small thing and could be so much worse. I have the rear deck rattle that I've read is a known design issue and drivers just deal with. My radio sound doesn't always go back to normal level after sonar beeping. And now the interior door light just randomly falls out.
This is my first Maxima. I LOVE IT. Please tell me though that I'm not going to have to get used to this kind of stuff. Are you all overall happy with the quality of your Maxima's?

Very happy here. One reason we do have a few glitches in these Maximas is that there are so many hundreds of features and systems and safety gizmos and technical advances in these Maximas that it is not fair to expect everything to be perfect. Of course we have had a few problems reported here that should not have escaped Nissan's due diligence.
On the other hand, had the extra checks and balances and attention to detail been done, Nissan would not have been able to price these Maximas at the point they do. I am very happy with the product at the price.
If I could point to one area where Nissan could improve their overall image (and that of the Maxima) the most, it might be in having a national problem number adequately staffed and trained to handle complaints in a more timely and efficient manner, coordinating with the dealership involved, continuing follow-up until the problem is fully resolved to customer satisfaction.
