OEM Trunk Mat

I just bought the Nissan OEM Trunk mat. I am very displeased. Anyone else have on that can confirm how terrible this thing is? I have the OEM rubber floor mats for the interior, and love them. Solid, thick rubber. Easy to clean. That is what I was expecting when I bought the trunk mat. Instead, I received a large piece of plastic, yet every single advertisement I have seen says its rubber. What gives?

What's it look like when installed in the trunk? If I were to get a trunk mat I would get the one WeatherTech offers for 119.00. Full coverage with a two inch lip around the perimeter.

At least I know they didn't swap it with some Chinese knock off. I bought it from Amazon and it was listed at the correct part number. I thought maybe I had been ripped off. Now I need to find another avenue. Thanks Tyrell.

I have a WeatherTech floor mat in my Corvette. When I received it, it looked very much like your Max OEM does. After a few days in the heat the crease disappeared. Hope yours does the same. As for rubber, I don't know if you would like the smell of rubber wafting through to the interior from your trunk on a hot day. I'm betting your material is about the same as WeatherTech, which does not give off that rubber odor, yet that material should wear well and clean easily. Also the new polymer materials are much lighter than rubber and should allow you to easily lift it to get to your spare tire and tire tools.

Just my first thoughts.

There would be no rubber smell. I have the OEM all weather floor mats, which are rubber, and I get no smell. I want the protection.
This ****ty piece of plastic will cause anything I have in my trunk to slide around, whereas rubber will give more friction and keep it in place.
As for cleaning, I just take it out, throw some water and dawn soap and scrub it with a big brush, cleans up just fine.
Lastly, I aint no *****, I can lift a trunk mat to get to my spare tire. Perhaps an elderly person would benefit from the lightness, not me.
The ultimate point of this post was to see if this was in fact the correct OEM mat. It seemed very cheap to be a $100+ product. Not to mention its clearly advertised everywhere as "rubber" not plastic. Which is the main reason why I am pissed.

Red face

Touche! Sorry I stepped on your manhood. Photos don't necessarily tell a good story do they? Just my 2 cents, or... er 1 cent in this case.

Peace..............
