Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forums. I am the proud new owner of a 2017 SR super black midnight package and I am in love with the vehicle. One annoying issue I have is when I listen to text messages in the car. In my line of work we tend to have quite a few group message threads going on at the same time due to different locations of work. When I have the car read me the texts that are part of our group messages, it tends to take about 5 minutes reading out every single person that is in the group as well as their phone numbers...on top of the date, time and sometimes the gps coordinates of some of the people involved. Does anyone know if there is any way to turn that function off? I have searched through the phone options in the car and on my cellphone and can't seem to find anything. It would be great if the car would just read me the text message! Any help would be great!

 

Unfortunately the only way to turn it off is to turn off the text message feature altogether. It has to do with MMS vs SMS messages. Group messages are MMS messages and it will give every little detail down to the second the message was received. It's extremely annoying! By the way picture messages are also MMS and I get quite a few of those.

 

For Android users, there is a solution for your problem w an app called readitome or Android auto wireless app.
