New owner of a brand new 8th gen SV (third Maxima) , last one lasted 10 years with normal tinted windows , new ceramic claims that decreases interior temperature by a lot , anybody had tried it ?

Does it really keep the inside of the car cooler than regular tinted windows ?

Yes. Do ceramic. What brand do the tint shops offer? I had Llumar Formula One Pinnacle 30 all around on my 16max and now have Llumar Formula One Pinnacle 15 front, 30 rear on my 2017.5 Murano midnight. I also just added prestige spectra photosync 55 to the front windshield and that really adds to keeping the car cool.

Ceramic tint vs metallic tint is a big difference in heat rejection plus ceramic tint won't interfere with radar detectors, cell phones, other electronics. Yes it costs more but I highly recommend it. If you can get your windshield done I strongly recommend that. It cuts out a lot of heat and glare from cars. Can't tell it's tinted from the inside. From outside it's a little darker but has a slight blue hue to it.

You also might want to look look into adding tint on your sunroof as that also cuts down on heat. If prestige spectra photosync was a charcoal color I would of done my whole car in it cause of the major heat rejection however it has a blueish hue so if your looking for the non tinted look or lightly tinted that's the best option.

The best film out there is 3m crystalline series, I had ceramic before and what a difference with 3m I'm reallly happy... keep in mind that I live in Las Vegas and it gets 117 on summertime

I concur with everyone else. You will be pleased with the ceramic tint. I've used it on all my vehicles over the last 6 years. I actually sat in the parking lot with my wife at the tinting place when having it installed on our maxima. I took a piece of the tint and placed it inside of the drivers window while she sat in the car in the sun. She could feel a drastic amount of difference in the heat on her face as I moved the film on and off of the glass.

Well worth the little extra cost, especially if you plan to keep the car awhile.

Ceramic is the way to go. Have it installed on my 2016 SR and there is a very noticeable heat difference, especially if the car has been sitting for awhile in the sun.

We weren't sure what to use until the guy at the Tint Shop whipped out a heat lamp and put up tint samples to it. The difference with the ceramic was very noticeable.
