Is it possible to add Paddle Shifters to non SR model?
Hello to all. Does anyone know if it is possible to add Paddle Shifters to a 2016 SV model? I recall it was possible for 7th gen Maxima SV owners to do so. I believe it was plug and play for a lack of better terms (pre wired). I ask because other models (Infiniti M37 non sport & G37 non sport models) were also plug and play / pre wired. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

First off, Nissan would not wire up their entire fleet of Maxima's for paddle shifters only to install the actual shifter on the SR model. That would be too costly, as 99.99 percent of the non SR buying public do not want or need paddle shifters. Secondly the steering column on the SR model is probably different than the rest of the other models. I might be wrong on all this, but I don't think so.

I believe you are absolutely correct. Did some digging and found a previous post by a fellow member with pictures. His was an SL. Posted a pic showing no signs where there are any brackets or pre wiring for paddle shifter.

Paddle shifters
Do you think there is a place that could do the swap? I have a 2016 Nissan maxima sv and it didnt come with the one thing I wanted. I was wondering if there is any way it could be swapped? Maybe through Nissan or a third party? Get back to me if you can.

If you think about it, paddle shifters do not make sense for a CVT. It doesn't have gears, and when you force it using the selector or paddles, you are severely limiting the ratios to just 7 out of unlimited.

Nissan doesn't make it easy to add paddle shifters to anything but the SR, but considering every trim has the "manual mode", I can't see why it wouldn't be possible.
It can't be too difficult to hack into where the shifter is and run some wires to the same contacts that would be closed when pressing up and down on the ****.
That said, to repeat what Mason said... it kind of defeats the purpose of the CVT to use the simulated gears... and probably hurts the performance. But I suppose it can make the drive more engaging if your into that
