2016 Nissan Maxima - Concealed Carry Setup

I recently purchased a Springfield XD 9MM subcompact http://www.springfield-armory.com/pr...b-compact-9mm/ and was looking for a way to hide it nice and neat in my 2016 Maxima

Low and behold this little gem installs neatly at the top of the glove box. The gun attaches nicely and is easy to remove all the while hidden from plain sight when the glove box is open.

I mounted it a little to the left to allow easier removal 'if needed' vs. a flush mount.

I did a similar thing in both my 2013 and 2017.. I made a custom Kydex holder... Used plastic body panel locking clips to hold it in place in that same area. Both my wife and I carry Sig P938 - no matter which of us is driving the car we can put leave them, if need be.

I can't reach that area quickly enough. Inside waistband .38 spc., hammerless for me. Besides I have grandkids in and out of my car. Gotta be careful. If I kept the piece in the glovebox I'd have to keep that locked. No good for me or the kids. The dang little thing almost fits in the sunglasses storage in the overhead console, but I'm afraid if I modify that holder and one of the kids "trips" the button by mistake the .38 will fall right right into their lap. Wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I don't let the kids play in the car, but one never knows with young boys, and I can't keep my eye on them 100% of the time. I was a curious young lad once so I know what boys can get into.

Don't get me wrong. I carry on my person even when driving. It is too easy to get lazy and not grab your cary when you stop for gas, or are just running into a store "real quick." But both my wife and I work in locations that do not let us carry during the day. That leaves us with a need to leave our guns in the car while we are at work. The glove box is locking, not secure, but locking.
