Brake light flashers

Wanted to try one of those brake light flashers.
I have been seeing them around lately, and, I guess, it makes you pay attention to it.
Then, finally got one installed. Pretty quick install, with minimal wiring exp.
module's (+) input and output jumps on the car's (+) line, module's (-) input goes to a ground (I put it on one of the trunk latch bolt), an the module's (-) output is unused.
The one I installed states it can be used for both halogen and led setup.
So, I put it on the trunk spoiler light.
Three flashes under half a sec, three a little over a sec, and then steady.
I made sure it is not the flashing only.
Overall, I like it.

"FastFlash 60" (can handle up to 60 watts of load, according to the description)

I noticed a Lincoln MKZ the other night that had what seems to be the exact same setup on his trunk light. The blink pattern was exactly what you have described. It definitely caught my attention, but in an elegant way. I thought it made the car look classy and it made me want to do the same to the Maxima.

I think I'm going to order one for my 2016 Goldwing as well

Thanks for posting the product!!!

Just ordered replacement flasher LED lights. Can you post a quick video of your install and look.

Ian B, sorry but i have no video for it. it was very straight forward connection.
i will get a photo when i get my car from the shop (rework a paint job).

i cut the positive line before the connectors, and bridged it with the module.
i used butt connectors and lots of electrical tape to close it off.

Yes, please upload a pic when you can. Did you splice into the spoiler harness below the trunk cover or did you unscrew the spoiler LED strip and tap to that harness wire???

i tapped before the connector; wiring on the car side.
in case the spoiler needs to be replaced for some reason.

Thanks for the info. The module will come in today and do the install on the morning. Odd that the negative output from the module does not get connected and still works.

Thx.

I don't know why, either. It might be just for grounding purposes.
It really makes the tailgaters back off a bit.

Well, got the module today, took me about 10 mins to install but when I put the trunk liner back on and shut the trunk, the spoiler light no longer comes on. Spent 2 hours tonight isolating the issue by moving and taping the module in different locations, vertical, horizontal but no luck. If the trunk is open with no liner on, it works fine but, if I put the liner and close the trunk it does not work.

I finally gave up and removed the module to return it.

Now the problem, I connected the original positive wires to one another where I spliced them and have the same issue. If no liner and the trunk open, it works. Once I put the liner and close the trunk it no longer lights the spoiler led. I tapped on the liner and that appears to be the issue if it touches the spoiler wire.

Now I am driving with no third light on. Gonna have to stop at an electric mechanic to look at it and pay to fix it.

Thanks. Got up today and went to 5 different electric auto repair shops. 4 said no and the one that I was gonna go first but chose to go last, looked at it, put new connectors and problem solved. Did not want to charge for an easy job he said. Thanked him and left. I have order plug in led flasher bulbs that are plug and play. See my other thread. Should get by weekend and install Sunday.

Anytime a shop won't charge you for fixing your F-up, means they think you're as dumb as a woman...

What spoiler are you referring to? My SR only has the tail lights and the rear deck light.

Thanks, obviously I'm not much of a car guy.

Ok, just saw the spoiler install thread and answered my own question, may have blown it by ordering the module instead of the light bulbs.

Ok help please. I got the module today but just one, not completely understanding how I was going to install when I purchased. I either need to purchase a second one for the other brake light or install this at the brake pedal. The instructions are horrible for this for a non car guy. Has anybody done the install at the brake or can tell me how to locate the positive brake light wire at the brake. I have no idea. I guess I could have a shop do it but I'd rather not.

20 mins to install and blinking brake LEDs in and working perfect. Did a landscape video but it came out portrait w car sideways, ugh. Here is the link. Very satisfied w simplicity and performance. Do not come across as aggressive or brake checking someone. Keeping original bulbs in case pulled over and told they are illegal.
