**Installing Platinum Headlights in a 2016 SL?!**

Anyone have any insight on if putting in a pair of Platinum headlights will work in an SL? Any other parts needed? Any experience on this? Thanks.

Edit - Assuming the LH + RH assemblies is all I'd need, is this everything that's required, if a simple plug + play is all it takes?

LH - 26060-4RF3B
RH - 26010-4RF3B

Led technology is different from halogen. The lights will bolt right in but you will probably need a wiring harness

It's a whole assembly, I believe the "LED" bracket comes mounted on.

Ok... But the plug for an H11 bulb will be different than the connector for the LED Low beam... So the "plug and play" aspect is most likely not going to be achievable without a harness from the h11 connector to the LED module

Looking at the SL headlight, it's easy to trace where the wiring goes for both the LB and HB, as well as the turn signal and running lights, all being routed through the wiring harness. However, looking at the SR/Platinum headlight, I can't see any wiring coming out of the enclosed LED back cover. I would assume it all goes through the wiring harness as well, which is common for both halogen and LED headlights, but that's just a guess, as I think I see less wires going through the harness for the LED version. I couldn't get a good enough photo online to see if the pin count in the harness was different in the 2 housings. Perhaps an SR or Platinum owner has taken a good look at the back of the headlight, and could clear things up.

How about part #'s 26038-4RF3A and 26038-4RF3B, its listed as the harness for SR/Platinum models. IF these units were purchased 2x, that'd cover everything, no?

You still need an aftermarket harness to connect your OEM H11 connectors to the LED module

Unless you completely remove all the OEM headlight wiring and replace it with the SR/Platinum wiring... Which wouldn't be worth the effort to do

Have you asked the dealer about this, and if it's possible do this retrofit?
