Engine Splash Guard Dragging

Hi Fellas,

Looking for some help for 17 SL. The engine splash guard ripped away from the front bumper cover and is dragging on the ground. Really don't want to purchase a new front bumper cover as the back tab area near the attachment for splash guard is torn....any suggestions?

Thanks

I had this problem also and went to my body shop

My body shop found that half of the engine splash guard was dragging and the other half wasn't. I think I did this going over a uneven dip area in an intersection.

they determined that the engine splash guard really isn't needed in Southern California... it's more for winter seasons. So the area that was dragging was only one half of the engine splash guard piece and The Body Shop used auto fasteners to secure the other part and didn't charge me anything. So I tipped them. I looked with them at their cost for the replacement part splash guard from Nissan at wholesale was $250 plus a half hour labor. I asked the repairman if it was his car what would he do and he said I'm cut off the hanging piece and secure it. So I did.
