Curb rash on rims--any members from the DFW area here?

As a few of you guys on this sub have learned the hard way, the OEM tires don't offer much protection to the rims. A certain family member in my household parked to close to the curb and caused the damage seen in the attached pic. It's not deep so I think it should be able to buff out. Any DFW members know of any shops (particularly in the south Metroplex area) that you can recommend? Thanks in advance!

Virtually all Nissan dealers have a private contractor on call who handles all wheel scratch/rub problems. He will come to the dealer's lot or wherever you arrange to meet him. They usually do a very good job, but it can cost between $100 and $200 per wheel, depending on the damage. That is cheaper than a new wheel (which would also mean moving the tire, rebalancing, etc.) Discuss method of payment in advance, as most prefer cash payment.

And keep his number handy, as the wheel/tire combo on the 8th gen Maxima is the most scrubprone of any I have ever seen on any vehicle.

Thanks, lightonthehill. I will reach out to my local dealer to see what he recommends.

I have found it to be a major problem and I don't even drink.Buffing won't help as it looks like a very thin coating of whatever!

Fortunately, I paid a few extra bucks for the tire and rim protection insurance. worked out to be less than the cost of a new rim. Swerved to avoid hitting a squirrel and scuffed the curb. Next time it's curtains for the squirrel.

I would use some rubbing compound to get the paint of the wheel. If there are deep scratch, then the cheapest way out will be plastic dip. Dip will hide those scratches and all.
