downpipe 2016+ Maxima

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if there were any downpipes for the 8th gen maxima. If there are, what kind of horse power increase can I expect? I currently installed a stillen intake and stillen axleback exhaust to my 2016 maxima. Any info would be great.

thanks!
Rich

Excuse my ignorance, but by downpipes do you mean headers?

From the same web site

Q: Do down pipes only work on certain vehicles?
A: Down pipes are meant for turbocharged vehicles only.

Do you plan on adding a turbo to your max?

Ohhhh really? i didn't know that. I would love to add a turbo but i've been told it would cost thousands of dollars because i'd have to change my cvt transmission into something else in order to add a turbo. Before I thought it would make sense to add a downpipe for any possible future engine tunes.

There is a Y-pipe from Racingline, I think they may be out of business. Someone else makes a Y-pipe.

For the 8th gen maxima all we have is SRI's, Y-pipes and Axleback exhaust. No one even knows how to tune them yet even.

^^^ you could add all of the above and gain a few hp maybe 10.

Performance exhausts you're only going to get gains out of big motors, that's my take. People hear stories of 10-15% gains in HP and think all cars will benefit from a better exhaust. As stated, if you actually get gains, they are nominal. And other things could suffer, like MPG's may go down.
