Android Auto random disconnects.

Hello team,

I have a new 2018 SR midnight with Android Auto - a key requirement for me. It works well, but randomly disconnects, sometimes several days will pass and other times within minutes. Different cables make no difference that I can discern. Does anyone have this working flawlessly?

My wife has the same car and has the same problem. We just had the radio replaced before it started happening.

This also happens with CarPlay - and continues on the 2019+ refreshed model.
The infotainment/navigation is a half-azzed piece of S.
Mine arbitrarily disconnected over the weekend right after dialing.
Better than the whole system rebooting when I went into Waze.

Thumbs up Success!!!!!!! :)

After a month of searching and a couple of years of frustration with Android Auto disconnecting/not connecting, I found an inexpensive solution (<$20.00) on an Audi forum. For history, I tried clearing the cache on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S9+), changing cords and resetting the radio head unit.... all to no avail. here are the 2 items I used (both available easily on Amazon) and have had ZERO disconnects after about 6 hours of use. (Two 2-hr trips and multiple shorter trips). I haven't found a reason WHY it works, but it does. Also, disregard the warnings about no charging ability... charges my phone just fine. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
