I don't mean to be mean ricche, but this thread has been discussed a million times before. Please search the threads and comment on one of those. Perhaps we need a sticky thread for this.

Long story short, the Max is not a good candidate for horsepower mods. The transmission is not rated to handle that much torque. Unless someone comes up with a smart turbo that can drop off the boost at higher rpm, around 300 is gonna be the max.

That video you posted was pretty old. It was either for a pre CVT maxima, or they didn't care about long term reliability

Wrong car, just trade for a RWD racer. CVT just not meant for this kind of push in a Maxima.

You can do this mod but forget about reliability. Don't need to be an engineer to understand why Nissan does not add more HP to the CVT. Economy wins here

OK, then what is the max horsepower the CVT in the Maxima can handle?

I believe that Nissan is keeping the HP to 300 currently on the Max so as not complete with the Infinity brand. I don't think it has anything to do with the CVT, and I have seen nothing but speculation to establish otherwise.

You could have a point here as the Infinity 3.7 shows more 30 more HP or so but I see very little bump in total torque for the I-car. Sometime ago I heard someone say 300 ft lbs of torque is about it for the CVT for reliability.
