Maintenance message: Tire

I recently had a message pop up on my dashboard. It simply says "Maintenance - Tire."

My dash tells me that my tire pressures are fine. I manually checked the tires and their pressures are good. My car only has 6,000 miles on it, the tires have never been touched or rotated.

When I called the dealership about it they said just bring it in. Has anybody else had this message?

You are suppose to rotate tires every 5k or every 6 months. Its telling you to go get er done.

This reminder message does not mean you have a tire problem. Probably someone at the dealer set this "reminder" to remind you to rotate your tires as FGWild stated. You can unprogram this reminder if you wish but personally I would leave it alone, rotate your tires, then reset the reminder for another 5-6,000 mile rotation. I set the same reminder for my oil/filter changes.

This is covered in the owners manual, section 2, Instruments and Controls, with your attention drawn to 2-22, Maintenance.

Also read section 9, Maintenance and schedules, this talks about tire rotation.
