Without a doubt. My '18 Platinum has the worst snow performance of the 10 Maxima's that I have owned. Especially being in New England, I found it necessary to put snows on last winter. I went with Michelin X-Ice xi-3's. What a world of difference.

Very badly. worse than any other car I have owned, including a 2005 Maxima. If you're up for it, go for it, they are worth it. I mean the snow tires. The standard ones do not do well at all in the snow.

As mentioned above, a world of difference. The car handles well with the snow tires as long as you drive responsibly.

Never had any major issues in the snow, 2017 Maxima SL (LEASED) 01/15/2017. 3 SNOW SEASONS AND HAD AFTERMARKET 20INCH WHEEL'S ON (NONE SNOW TIRES). PRIOR TO THE MAX I HAD A 2015 ALTIMA SL COMPLETELY STOCK AND AGAIN ZERO ISSUES! JUST GOT A 2019 MAXIMA SR BLACK ON BLACK 08'07/2019 WILL SEE HOW THESE WORK FOR ME THIS SNOW SEASON.
P.S I DROVE 18 WHEELER'S FOR 8 YEAR'S SO I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE.

I'm in the same boat regarding snow tires. None of my cars over the last 30 years have had snow tires but I have been thinking about it for the 17 Max I acquired in April. We don't usually get a lot of snow in Toronto and when we do, the roads are cleared pretty quickly. Still, I am thinking maybe i should get them for the Max since when you need them, you need them.

When I lived in Minnesota, I never had snow tires. But then I never had a Max in MN! I think the 300 HP will make snow tires useful. Its just too much power for all weather tires to handle in the snow.

My o4 GTO with 350 hp was fantastic in the snow on all seasons....and it was RWD. It is not the HP.

I used to live in a snowy climate. Some friends used to put chains on their tires (this was years ago). Does anyone do that anymore?

I do not ever see chains. My Altima is atrocious in the snow........And it has 17's. I cant imagine how bad the Max is on the 19s
