hi
i will probably buy the new max 2020 sl, so i'm hoping that u guys list me the pros and cons of the maxima. Also, does the ride quality differ that much between the sr and the other trims.

I don't think us doing that would help you much because opinions differ greatly. The best thing you can do for yourself is to educate yourself on its features and specs, and then go do some test driving. Otherwise, just from us you will get a bunch of opinions, many of which may not be in agreement with yours.
sr platinum? Never heard of such trim. I have a 19' sr super black after trading in my 17' sl brilliant silver and i have zero regrets.
Depends what you like. I would go with a SR with the premium package. The ride is firm but it handles really great. The sport suspension makes it a fun daily. The CVT is not bad at all. You save on gas and have plenty of power with the VQ. Get a SR or a Platinum, there's really no point of getting a lower trim with missing features just go all out. Thats my opinion.
Cons: Cheaply put together, ages fast and may not outlast your car payments sans big repairs, visibility is worse than average, the back seat is pretty small.
Pros: Looks good, cozy and comfortable inside, plenty of power and decent fuel economy, handles well, effortless highway cruiser with a surprisingly long range.

That being said, overall, the pros he mentioned [with which I totally agree] make it worth it [for me, personally].

Just my experience. At 39,000 miles one of those plastic pieces is getting loose, I have the low RPM rattle since 20,000, clunking rear suspension, squeaks coming from the dash when I drive over slightly rough pavement, and plastic panels at the bottom left of the driver's seat coming misaligned because of flimsy clips. Also, that awful piece of cardboard under the trunk carpet.
Back seat is fine for my granddaughters. A little tight for adults. I have driven nothing but CVT powered Maximas since 2009, and will be buying ONLY CVT powered vehicles in the future. Fine acceleration. But the biggest feature is that I get 33 MPG on freeway trips. I never got close to that on my eight earlier generation Maximas with automatic trannies.
Visibility from inside the 8th gen Maxima is not good, so BE SURE to get one with the Birds Eye View, which gives an excellent view of both sides, front and rear.
I have been blessed in that I have had no rattles or squeaks or thumps from my 2016 Platinum. Nissan had to replace the double panel roof three years ago (covered by warranty), but nothing else has been touched.
I liked a sportier suspension the first eighty years of my life, but switched away from the sportier ride years ago, as I am now going through my 'never pass a rest room without stopping' years.
I don't know if there will be an 9th generation Maxima. If not, then I will replace my beloved 2016 Platinum with whatever the last year Maxima happens to be. I do love my Maximas. A big part of that love is having a dealer who has always treated me well, and who I trust to do exactly what is needed and do it right.
