Morning all! I just got my leftover 2019 Maxima SL. I was in a 2019 Silverado and it was an absolute lemon. I've always liked maximas but never pulled trigger until now.
Question! I ordered a spoiler from spoiler and wing king. They have been my go to with other cars as well but I note that the spoiler light doesn't have a plug. A search of the forums mentions wiring instructions but I haven't seen where is best to splice in. Any advice? Thanks! Happy to be part of the group!

Vrhaines,
Yes, I just brought a spoiler from them last week and did the install myself and i had the problem with where to connect the LED light and only the OEM spoiler comes with the adapter to connect to the light,
Now this is what I did and I hope this help people out there who are trying to do it themselves. My aftermarket spoiler from spoiler and wing kings came with a red and black wire. Well the harness that the oem plug that the oem was to connect to has a blue and gray wire behind it, cut the wire from the adapter and connect the red wire to the blue wire which is power and connect to gray wire to the black wire and that it, I did this 2 days ago and it work. I watch youtube videos and heard that you splice into the 3rd brake light and i don't know how to do that, So I went to the local Napa auto parts store and they told me what to do.
I also did the rocker panels moldings myself with no experience and today I pick up the air diffuser/rear bumper and i'm going to install that myself.
I hope this help.

Thanks for all the help for this new guy! How big a deal was addin the rocker panels? I already have them on my 19 Plantinum and really like the look. Do be careful when you go for service since the lift arms need to have the touch points to the body extended! (Either by an additional block of rubber or a screw out extension. Otherwise the rockers will crack on the lift arms! I had this happen at the dealer with my earlier 2016 Platinum and did not notice for a week afterwards. I now hand the service writer a red text printed warning for the tech and have them do a walk around before service tech gets the car.Originally Posted by Tyrone A Anderson

Any chance of you taking pictures on your rear diffuser install? Good luck!

Sorry for the late response.
I'm doing the install for the rear diffuser Tomorrow and I will post pictures and show you guys how i did it. My son is coming over tomorrow to help me, It requires 2 people to install the rear diffuser.
I will also post pictures of the Rocker panel and spoiler too. I was nervous to do the spoiler and rocker panel myself, I was going to pay the dealership to do it at first. They wanted $ 125 to do the rear diffuser and $ 80.00 to install the rocker panel molding. I said to myself that I could do it myself and this can't be that hard and did it myself. The spoiler took me 30 to 40 minutes to do and the rocker panels took me less then an hour. I brought the Rocker panel at Avondale Nissan here in Arizona since that closet dealership to my house. By the way...I didn't pay retail. lol. Plus I got the Rear diffuser from them also.
Now i don't like the fact that when you get oem parts from nissan that they don't come with instruction, as a matter of fact, This forums has really help me out. I got the instruction for the rear Diffuser on this forum. Rocker panel and Rear diffuser came with a sheet that tell you to go to a website and get the instruction and i tried that but the website didn't work. Now when i open the box for the Rocker panel and if i remember each panel had 4 or 5 holes and they came with 2 screw and some push pin Rivet. I just got my drill and pre drill the holes and insert the Push pin Rivets into the holes and they was only one screw for each panel and a spring nut and that was it. it's looks damn good. When I went to the dealership to pick up the Rear diffusers. The service manager came out and look at my car and he said that i did a good Job and that i save $ 200 bucks buy doing it myself.
I was scared at first, what if i mess it up. But when i went to the dealership and they told me how much it would cost to do it, I went home and watch youtube videos and look all over this forum for insight
on how to do it and to see if any of you had done it and you guys have shown me that it possible and that gave me the faith to go ahead and do it myself. I said to myself what it would cost to have them do it, I could used that money and get another part for my car.
My car is a 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum and the color is silver, I wanted white and i had my eye on one and told the dealership that i would come over and buy it after my wife appointment but they call me 30 minutes later and told me that they sold it and offer me an SL, But i told them no, I want my Platinum. Most of you may not know this but dealerships can't hold on to there used maxima 2016 and up. there in very high demand.
One more things, I just got the security plus on my car, I didn't get it when i brought my car. I brought my car July 29 of this year and I got the Nissan security plus Gold 2 weeks ago.

Good move on getting the Security Plus warranty. Thanks for all the details on the installs. Also you might consider the rocker panel lighting later on. Really sets the car off at night when approaching.

Robtroxel,
Yes, I forgot to mention that. I have the Kick plate w/Front illumination, External Ground Lighting and the interior lighting package (20-color accent)
I didn't add those to the car, they came installed from the factory. I never cared nor did i like the maxima until i saw the 8 gen, I'm 43 and i remember what they used to look like when i was a kid and i didn't like them. Plus the 2016 Nissan Maxima platinum was ahead of it time with all the features that it had, a lot of other luxury car bands didn't have all the stuff that the maxima platinum had when the 8th Gen got release in June 2015.

Agree with you. I ordered my 2016 Platinum new in Sept of 2015 with every option. Never regretted getting the xtras that are now being enjoyed by it's current owner. Only thing is I had to order my 2019 Platinum the same way just because the options looked so good and the cost keeps going up.Originally Posted by Tyrone A Anderson
