2021 Acura TLX S

If only the Max had this setup.
  • Acura has announced that the 2021 TLX Type S's turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 will produce 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.
  • Acura's SH-AWD system and a 10-speed automatic transmission are standard on all Type S models.
  • The TLX Type S is slated to arrive in dealers in spring 2021.
The 2021 Acura TLX looks great, and with it comes a new Type S model powered by a turbocharged V-6 that should make enthusiasts grin. But there was one looming question when the new sedan was unveiled: how much power will the new six make? The Type S is set to arrive this spring, and Acura has finally announced that it produces 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.

It is a beautiful car and they are very similar type cars for the same audience but the Maxima is just slightly more reliable. You see more Maximas on the road than TLX'S. Just my two cents.

It looks like they've given people a reason to get the TLX instead of the Accord again. I wonder how much it costs with the V6 turbo, especially compared with the Stinger GT.

As for the Maxima, Nissan needs to make significant changes to make it competitive, thing like all wheel drive, a better transmission, better suspension, and better packaging.

This is really high on potential next car list but I just don't like that center stack layout. Everything else on the car is beautiful, just Acura's dash designs never appeal to me at all for some reason

No CVT is reason enough for me.

Based on my experience with Acuras (we've owned 17 Honda/Acura products including a current Odyssey and 2016 TLX), you couldn't pay me to own one.
I'd take a Genesis or - in my case, Maxima Platinum - over it.
CVT or not.

Car and Driver: "Pricing is expected to start around $35,000 for the standard TLX and around $45,000 for the Type S."

Meaning Type S V-6 Turbo equipped like you would want it = 50 large.

Factor that into any Acura buying decision. Mine was sealed when they screwed up the navi.

as an aside, the 2018+ removed the secondary AC compressor (which = hot car in summer), the auto doors forever to close, and we fortunately haven't developed a swamp in the rear where the inbred (insert other term) Alabama assembly workers "forgot" to test the rain gutter/drain plugs.

I'd think about $55+.
For that money, Genesis G70 or G80.

I'm 100% getting the Stinger GT once my 2018 Maxima lease is up in March. Such a beautiful car.
