Does Anyone Know?

Does anyone know if the Nissan Connect 3g receiver is located in the head unit or elsewhere? Just wondering if changing the head unit to an 2018 unit would get the connectivity restored.

Ive looked into that and changing the hardware (located in the TCU) to the 4G chip wont fix it because the SIM is linked with Sirius to that car VIN. Ive asked them if they would remap it but they basically wont or dont know how (pretty much to me means they just wont period). Theres also a chance there could be compatibility issues on their end that developers would have to get involved in to get rid of the message that your vehicle cant sign up for nissan connect since its mapped to your VIN. So long story short.. sadly its a no-go. Been there and failed unless there has been some movement by nissan to fix it but i highly doubt it. Theyve told me numerous times that they have no plans to fix it.
