Lightonthehill checks in!

I promised Light I'd share this with the group since he is unable to post himself. His email is also below: Reach out
Rob.
Thanks for the note. Once folks reach my age, they usually disappear from the thoughts of younger folks that are still in their early eighties or seventies. I still have my 2016 Maxima, and probably because of lots of little cosmetic things I added to it, plus the fact it doesn't have a scratch on it, I still catch folks checking it out when I leave it parked anywhere.

I did put on a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+ tires, which are doing very well. The OEM tires still had 5/32nds tread, but I wanted to be assured of good grip at freeway speeds in wet weather.

I am unable to post on Maxima.org because the site protocol changed several years back. That is OK because I probably won't be posting forever. There comes a time when there is hardly enough time between doctor's appointments to just sit down and post.

I will say that a really big disappointment for me was when Nissan decided to phase out the Maxima instead of move with the times and take the logical step. Since the automotive world is going electric, and states are beginning to announce bans upcoming against ICE vehicles, the Ariya should have become the next generation Maxima. In looking at the equipment of the four Ariya models,

The Ariya VENTURE+ should have been the new Gen Maxima S

The Ariya EVOLVE+ should have been the new Gen Maxima SV

The Ariya PRIMERE should have been the new gen Maxima SR

The Ariya PLATINUM+ should have been the new gen Maxima Platinum

But Nissan went another direction, and left me very disappointed.

But I ramble as usual. Call me the Maxima rambler.

You can post this on the Maxima board if you wish. I knew a lot of really good folks there.

Thanks for thinking of me, and enjoy your 2019 Platinum. Nice car. Even nicer price.

Outstanding. Thank you for posting Light's thoughts. I have always found his insights, stories and reflections interesting and wonderfully well written in the form of master story tellers everywhere and his latest "ramblings" were no different.

His presence is greatly missed.

I have been a member for 7 years now, what changed that would prevent Lightonthehill from posting on this forum? I don't remember anything about changes.
