Replace Grill or Paint Grill

replace it or paint it?

If I choose to paint it, how do I go about doing it so the paint doesnt peel? What kind of paint would be best?

not sure if this section was really made for posts like these.
...unless you want to pick up a HVLP gun and a good compressor to do some actual spraying.

rattle can or plasti dip is not what this section is really about.

need a better picture. is the grill just bent all over the place like the pic somewhat shows? what all in wrong with it? this question is answered by whether you like the grill and the color. do you want to change the color also?

theres weird shadows below the badge and to the left. thought it was damaged and thats why you were replacing.

do you like the grill? have you found one you like more? what color do you want it?

Let me put it this way then...painting that ugly *** grille isnt going to make the front of the car look any better with the bumper like that.

ok good point. i updated the forum section to advanced paint and body work. this thread can stay. something like this really belongs in the 6th gen section.

this section is really for guys who's using HVLP guns and how to set them up and other body work stuff.
not the rattle can or plasti dip where there's not much skill needed aside from shake and spray (no offense to the guys who take pride in plasti dip painting).

random body work that i've done...

to answer your question..you must clean and prep the grill.

400 grit sanding
correct epoxy primer
base coat
clear coat

since it's not going to be bent around no flex will be needed.

so let me know if you're going to get the supplies and gun and i can help on how to use it and apply it but for some reason i doubt you will go that far to paint a grill.

How did u learn to be so helpful? Were u picked on as a kid?

I ask a simple question and your 1st response was to point out the obvious. Now you snoop even lower and try to insult me and my car.

There's not much I couldve done to the car in the week that Ive had it before I took a picture. Sorry if my bumper isnt up to your standards.

Must not be anything to do in NE Texas but chase tumble weeds and work on your car.

if you want to survive on an internet forum you'll need to grow a little thicker skin and let these negative comments roll off your back. you making these threads and going back just adds fuel to the fire. learn to ignore the negatives.

Maybe late, but replace. The mesh look is a good look too and I don't think they are too expensive. I had them upper and lower on my Altima.

I manage a body shop and let me tell ya that door looks slick as a baby's rear end. Nice work and great pics using the sky as a reflector.

I'd say you paint the grill or get a new one depending on the way YOU want your car to look. Then maybe a respray on the front end.
