I'm ordering a full set of ES bushings from suspension.com and they've got a bushing listed that I've not heard of, nor can I find a diagram for.

Front Lower Subframe Bushing Set - part # 7.1116

I don't want to spend $23 on this if it's something that is damn near impossible to install and you have to rip the entire car apart to do it.

Anyone have a pic, diagram, or can describe where this bushing set installs? I've not gotten under the car to go poking around yet, as it is dark outside.

 

Neal, it's an easy install. Support the engine, drop the crossmember, replace bushings, install. PM me your e-mail - I've got the whole instruction sheet in PDF I can send. Brian

btw, did you ever finish designing those new pillowball mounts for the camber plates? Ironically, mine are now making noise at the upper mount not 2 days after I was saying how great and quiet they were

I put the subframe bushings in the same catagory as the RSB. It won't hurt to install it so why not. And no, I never did anything with the pillowballs yet. Parts are still sitting around here like so many projects left undone. I'll get to em this winter as I now have a plan in my mind for the '07 & '08 seasons.

I have those so-called [not real] subframe bushings and I don't feel any difference. However, I think it will be an affective mod if you will also get ES motor mounts.

BTW, installation is VERY easy! Just don't forget to place a jack under the crossmember or the whole thing might simply fall out of there.

 

OK guys cool. I just didn't know what part they were actually referring to when they called them "front lower subframe bushings." Had they said "crossmember bushings" it would have been immediately obvious to me... I can have the crossmember out in like 5 minutes lol I have lots of practice. I'll definately be purchasing them now that I know what they are, the stock bushings that go there are JACKED on my car.

All new bushings and ball joints should really tighten up the sloppy front end of this car. I've already got ES motor mounts.

 

What do these bushings do?
