Raybestos Quietstop opinion for 4th gen

Hello everyone,

I guess it's time for new brake pads and my main source of info on the subject is maxmods.dyndns.org, so I'm trying to decide between the Raybestos Quietstops & Hawk HPS brake pads. Or the OEMs.

How are the raybestos quietstop brake pads performing for you ? looks like the maxmods site needs to update the vendor info for the quietstops as Rockauto doesn't seem to carry them anymore. Any other site where I can buy these ? I'll need to check the GD forum too.

thanks!

I am using Raybestos QS front/rear pads with OEM rotors. Overall I think it is better than Nissan pads. Brake pedal feels better. Also low dust and fairly quiet. The pads are still in good shape after 60K miles+. However, next time I am going to try Akebono.

My experience also...they hardly dust & are quiet.

Good pad for street-only use. I wouldn't take them to the track, but they're fine for everyday driving.

You should be able to buy them at Autozone or Orielly's. I've been able to get them at one of those places for years.

Thanks all for ur replies. I wouldn't be racing with them, just for street driving. I got a quote for HPS Hawks at $110 for all four but somehow got fixed on quietstops. I'll check autozone or pepboys tomorrow. never heard of Akebono.

thinking of installing them myself, let's see ... Motorvate has installation procedure for the fronts, wondering if there is any writeup for the back ones too !?!

every car parts/maintenance site on the net, as well as your handy dandy FSM have instructions on how to change brake pads.

I've been quiet pleased with mine. That sucks that Rockauto doesn't carry them anymore. That was where I bought mine.

I like mine as well, great for a daily driver, and very quiet.
