GC/Illumina?

Does anyone have this setup?

I would imagine a similar install to the GC/AGX process (grinding). Do they fit the same (after grinding) as they do on the AGX's?

Any help is appreciated.

Wow everyone is interested in GC's now. Why the change of outlook on them? When I had mine on I had to RTV my strut bearing to the top to stop the clicking/grinding sound you get from them when you turn the wheel.

you cant grind the tokicos, they are made different. You need the correct sleeves from GC to it, the kyb or koni stuff wont work, at least no from what i tried.

But DONT do it, get konis, shorten them, trust me.

I bought new KYB AGX's. I had good experiences with my my used set (now sold) and going (new) Koni yellows takes a good bit from my wheel and tire budget (as well as a semi BBK I have been wanting to do).

Any thoughts on the strut bearing issue JSutter? I am going to be following the Mike Kojima method of installation and didn't see it mentioned.

i RTV'ed it up to the mount. If you dont it will fall down and get crushed. Konis are expensive but they are well worth it. I will NEVER use anything again. Its hard to justify spending the coin until you experience them. The only way to save a buck is running konis up front and illuminas out back.

The AGX are harsh, like whoa. Just dont go slamming the car.

I won't. Way over bump-steer and nailing my crossmember on shiz. When I had D2's they were at the tippy top LOL.

I will probably be a tad higher than I was on S-Techs just finally even.

the gc for the illuminas, you need to knock the shock collar off for the sleeve to fit on the body. it might be a different sleeve for a different shock, hence why they have options for different shocks.

im running the GC/Illumina setup as well. I shouldve went with the koni reds like what JSutter would say: its all about suspension travel. but once my current shocks blow out i'll swap em over.

Illuminas = high-end budget dampers.
Konis = budget high-end dampers.

For most aftermarket springs, Illuminas are fine. But for GCs, the difference will be huge. If you're going to do it, do it right and get Konis.

Nope.

But that aside, what would it have to do with the topic at hand?
