Exclamation dead links

I am not a newbie but I recently decided to upgrade handling of my wonderful car.

Unfortunately amidst my research of drop vs comfort (I only want a small improvement, with a small drop, but quality stuff) I found a lot of dead links and therefore cannot help myself without asking for some advice, or updated links. Seeing as though this IS a forum and people come here for answers.. here goes nothin....

doug.maxima is gone i think. some others too.

LTB - 1 BlehmCo... is this a good company? guy says as-is, has anyone been screwed or is this cool?

SPRINGS - i may go with sprint. nice ride? not to low... any hints ? I think only from what I remember

Struts - tokico hp or blue, i remember from research before

RSB cattman - does anyone suggest an rstb as well? do they make one? I have bass in the way.

fstb - ebay special already installed (tubular aluminum or chromed steel?)... is it worth upgrading?

FSTB: leave it

RSB: Thats a sway bar, not a strut bar. Its well work it if you combine it with struts/springs etc...

RSTB: Yeah they make em, I think stillen has one not sure.

BlehmCo is great, never dealt with Matt personally, but he does make good stuff and does good work.

I have Ksports, Im no strut/spring expert, but I do know that Blues are generally too soft for a lot of drop springs. Check out Jsutters shortened Konis if you want quality.

sprints are a pretty severe drop (2" flat F/R) and are pretty high rate IIRC. Coupled with a soft damper like the blues they won't exactly ride nicely. If you want a slight drop with similar to stock rates, check out Maxspeed springs. If you want a slight drop with slightly elevated rates, try H&Rs, and if you want a medium drop with significantly higher rates, go for some Eibachs. The sprints are lower than any of these and will compromise your handling because of it. Either way I'd suggest getting some Konis instead of blues.

got it, h&R is probably what i'll go with, the koni's i will research today

the rsb i decided on was cattman..

i was wondering if i shuold look at a rstb as well, sort of like tie the front together top and bottom and tie the rear together, as well, i've heard old muscle car guys say handling is strange if you do something to the front and not the back.

Thanks for the info guys I appreciate it

get the Tie Bar soon from matt.....he's not making any more of them, so when they're gone, they are GONE for good...

Sprint springs suck...

We need to know what year your maxima is though, since brands products have different reputations for different maxima years...

forget the rstb, it does very little and requires you to cut up your trunk liner

good point josh, blehmco is being sold... matt blehm has been an active member of the maxima community for many years and i have yet to hear anything negative about how he does business, you'll be fine ordering from him

btw, when buying a roof rack from a local org'er he happend to have a Stillen RSTB sitting around (since his maxima is gone). I decided to pick it up for the hell of it (if anything it is good for tying stuff down inthe trunk). Got it for cheap, and it's genuine Stillen so why not...

But in truth, I can actually feel a difference in that the back of the car doesn't "shudder" or "shimmy" nearly as much when it hits bumps/potholes and "seems" to sit flatter. i'm pretty in-tune with my car's handling so I don't think it's my imagination.

And it's interesting that I'm saying this since I have always been someone who said "RSTB's don't do anything"

I actually think I feel the RSTB more than I feel the FSTB, honestly.

All that said, a RSB or LTB does alot more than either strut tower brace does. But I guess if you already have everything else, the RSTB is worth it if you can get it cheap.

btw, my trunk liner is already all torn up anyways, but all you have to do is make a couple small snips in the edge of the liner for a RSTB to fit. And you can't even really see it unless you stick your head down in the trunk.

y2k max

it used to say on the left what year, sorry.

for 65 bucks it would be stupid not to buy one from someone reputable.

thanks for the tips.

I think i eventually will go with an rstb just cause it seems like all 4 points on the suspension woulbe better tied together, like a ladder.

Stupid engineering. Pshhh.

I feel like doing them all separately would be sweet.
