been viewing my car with auterra...?? about TPS
I had my palm pilot and auterra with me at the track to check my timing and a few other things. I was viewing the throttle position sensor (TPS), and I have a few questions.
I have a 2001 pathfinder throttle body with the 2001 TPS from the pathfinder. At WOT, it only gets up to 91.4% open. I thought that it could not be good, so I tried to adjust it to reach 100% at WOT, even though I correctly set it up with feeler gauges according to the haynes manual. When I rotate it to read more than 91.4%, it stays above 0% when the throttle is closed, and I thought that can't be good either. So is my range from 0%-91.4% okay, or do I need to try a different TPS?
Can anyone else with an auterra or similar verify TPS % ? Thanks.

I don't think it is a problem. The main concern I believe is making sure the TPS goes to a high enough voltage to trigger open loop operation. I think it would be obvious in your track times if you were not going into open loop. I remeber when StephenMax first did the PF TB swap, he was concerned that his TPS voltage would not allow him reach open loop. I believe we need 4 volts WOT and he was only getting like 3.7 or so. It did not turnout to be a problem. He was actually getting a better range than his stock TPS gave him. I was able to get 4 volts at WOT and keep my stock idle.
What timing to you see at redline? I get 28 at close to redline in 2nd.

I have been worried about this too looking at my auterra read out...I reach 92% or something when I put my foot to the floor....so I may need to adjust my tps....I did take a multimeter to the tps and it went from 0.5XX closed to 4.XXX kohms @ WOT...so it's pretty close to spec! but I also read somewhere that our WOT maps (fuel and timing maps....apparently there are seperate maps for just WOT) of our ecu don't impart unless the TP is 93% or greater.....so maybe I am not opening up the WOT maps from the ecu but rather the maps right under it...I'll try and adjust it and see if my performance changes any....
I believe the info regarding WOT maps and when they trigger based on TP is in that knock sensor article by steVTEC....where he used the auterra to graph timing based on several different TP's....
I30mike, 28 degrees advanced at redline in 2nd gear is with a jwt ecu?
