i was thinking 7200rpm would be nice...its about 700rpm more than stock.
as far as changing stuff, i have alot of mods and should be boosted by the end of may. as soon as the zemulator comes out for the VE ECU i'll be buying it, which allows me to set any rev limit, VTC crossover and since its for the actual VE ECU not the Z32, i should be able to set the VI crossover along with everything else the ECU controls (standalone on a stock ecu )
i'm asking how high i can safely rev without killing the motor. powerband will be determined on the dyno along with how exactly high i want to rev..i just want to know about what the absolute max is.
my motor is rebuilt to factory specs with less than 5000 miles on it (i also have 300zx 10.5:1 pistons)

The Zemulator software hasn't been programmed to support the VE VI yet. I'm sure it's possible. But until then, you will have to keep the stock VI release point unless you wire in an rpm switch.

But, as for the highest to rev in a VE... I don't think anybody has really tested the limits of the VE valvetrain. But, I'm sure if you just rev up to 7200 and shift, you should be fine. But if you revved 7200 in 3rd gear and held it for a while, that would probably float the valves. But I dont' ever plan to rev above 7200 ever with my stock valvetrain.

Have you ever taken your VE up to 7000 rpm? I have, it's a different motor. It's probably not making any significant power that high, but it sounds like a completely different motor above the stock 6650 rev limiter.
