ok I am now in the hunt

I am on the quest for fastest all motor 4th gen.
I installed a new motor 30K ago along with a newly rebuilt 5 speed in my '96 only to hit a deer 2 weeks ago. Since the odometer read 225K it was totaled with only a messed up hood and radiator support. I bought the car from the ins company for $260! It is going straight race trim. I ran a 14.8 at full weight. Lets see how it does at 2000lbs

yeah complete strip. Shedding as much weight as possible.
Weight reduction will be the biggest mod at first. Next i have upper and lower intakes and heads to port.

MZMTG has called dibs on the seats and door panels. If something happens I will let you know though.

Geez $260 i should see about buying my max back, seriously. Fix it up enough to be a daily driver and have a spare parts bin as well.

It is a hassle to get it titled again where it will be street legal. I have already made 3X the $260 in parts sold.

I like it very good idea, just make sure your RACE maxima is faster than the STREET NA maximas or that will be

well i tell you, there are some pretty stout street maximas. My major attribute for a while will be weight. Also I am only going after the 3.0 crown
Seriously though, if I can get in the 13's on slicks the first time out I will be happy, especially with stock ECU. The only mods will be Y pipe, Ram air, UDP, ACT and EXTREME weight reduction. Does anyone know if Techno will do a custom programming? like a 100 octane program?

I don't think you will benifit from 100 octane unless you run nitrous.

For weight reduction definitly take everything out and get a racing seat. Take out the carpet, headliner, dash if you can except leave gauage cluster. Take out the AC, bumper braces, everything in the engine you don't need, rrun a sideout out exhuast, that will save you some weight from the exhuast. I don't think you can get it down to 1 ton but probally like 2500 lbs. Also gets some lexan made and replace all the windows. That alot of weight right there. I don't know if you can take out power steerring?

No you can get a 4th gen MUCH lighter than 2500. I will have all those things you told him to take out and be around 2550lbs
