vi question

i know that there have been different post about this here and there but i just wanted to put one together for my own reference.......im getting the JWT ecu and with the extended rev. i was also going to get the MEVI but recently the big fuss has been about the 00VI. I saw that the SC guys were making more power with the 00VI. i have an 96 auto with a cai and headers back.

So i was wondering with the ecu upgrade is it worth it(power wise) to get the MEVI or the 00VI

thanks

if you get the MEVI you'll lose low-end power and gain it in the high end,

with the 00VI you still keep low-end power and midrange (that's where my car spends 90% of the time) AND you get the top end power too.

ESSENTIALLY the best of both worlds. and in my book that's a mod worth the money and the time to install it.

i understand that the 00vi makes more lowend/mid power then the mevi.....but if ur racing(wot) wouldn't u want the highend power(mevi) since thats were ur gonna be most of the time? 4,000rpm and up

a 00VI would fit any VQ30DE, there is no middle eastern VI in the 2000s

The mounting bolt holes in the 00vi don't quite match up with the VQ30DE lower intake manifold.

You can relocate the holes in the lower IM, or you can use the DE-K lower IM which will mount directly to the DE cylinder heads. If you do that, then you also have to use the DE-K fuel rail and injectors.

There are IACV and EGR issues as well.
