If you go to any parts shop, they will have a compression tester there.
I know Autozone sells it for $40.00. but if you don't know how to use it then go to a shop. they will charge you labor which is about $35.00 an hour. So they might charge you about $50-$60 if they ask you to pay more than that run.

Well if the heads are on, then turn the crank manually with a friend.
