OEM VQ30 cam needed
OEM VQ30 cam needed
Since apparently JWT won't sell to just anybody the spacer rings needed to fit VQ30 timing gears onto VQ35 cams, I am willing to engineer and fabricate spacer rings. In order to do this, I need a VQ30 cam to take measurements from. I would rather not use the present cams in my engine right now to do this.
So, I'm sure some of you motorheads out there have a spare VQ30 cam or two lying around and filling up your garage. Would you consider letting me borrow it, for the good of the org?
I'll pay for shipping both ways.

email me at s.manifold@mail.utexas.edu and we can talk about this offline.

Then he finally gets an engineer that designs most of there cams on the phone and he was allot better to talk to, he didn't understand at first I mean he knows the purpose of the spacers but he didn't know why I needed them for what I was doing, (Hybrid swap) This was all new to them they didn’t know anything about this swap until now. So now I understand why now the price has been bumped up, before you know it they prob will make a kit and post it on the website.

Don't you realize...they make them for all those 2001-2003 VQ35 Pathfinder "racecars" out there that want to run later/aftermarket VQ35 cams.
Jackazzes at JWT didn't even know what they had...japmaxSE/myself opened that can of worms for JWT, however instead of them embracing it, they view it as losing VQ30 JWT cam sales because now VQ30s can run any one of the numerous VQ35 cams available.

Tilley better hop on that and start making them.
I wish I could have time and make them, there's about 4 people I know here alone that need those spacers.

Yep now I remember that's exactly what they told me they were used for.

Haha...I thought about that the other day and was going to ask. Then I remembered you pretty much said it wasn't going to work.
Worth a shot I guess, but do NOT go out of your way and make a special trip on my part. Next time you go to the PO, just send it my way.

Stephen is not going to need it now that I have a set on the way...
Either A)I'll find a place to make more or B)I'll send my set to Stephen to duplicate. It would probably be easier to duplicate the actual spacers, then measure off the cam/head/timing chain.
