Does anyone know the answer to this for sure? Also, can this be fixed by just using the 5th gen harness in the first place? I realize that on one end the harness connects to the iacv, but what does it connect to on the other side? A vacuum source like the upper im itself?

Even though you modified the 4th gen iacv plug to fit the 5th gen iacv, you still have an erratic idle sometimes right? Again, would using the 5th gen iacv harness fix this?

How does this swap affect the operation of the EGR system? Does the 4th gen system continue to work normally if unchanged during the install or must you retrofit the 5th gen equip onto the 4th gen or use all 5th gen pieces to make it work?

If you install the 5th gen egr tube, then your egr will function.

Thanks for the timely response krismax...but am I on my own for the other questions? I'd prolly get the requisite "Do a search newbie" if I post them again huh? Sorry if I'm asking questions to old answers, and feel free to ignore me in that case. Also, I'm not able to search on here.
