Lightbulb Traction control

This will take a leap of logic as I know US 4th gens don't have Traction Control (TC)

My Cefiro has a traction control in the form of a swith that says
SNOW|AUTO|POWER.

When you floor the car it automatically goes in to Power mode. When in snow mode if you floor it, it will provide more gradual power to the wheels.

I'm converting to 5 speed.

Is TC done via the gearbox? or the ECU? or what?

Basically can anyone think of any issues I will have, I think I will still have the use of the traction control once I have converted to 5 Speed.

My friend had a aftermarket transmission computer installed on his Auto (rightly or wrongly) and he could never hit his redline of 6500 it would only go to 6000rpm UNLESS he manually hit the power switch, WHICH makes me think its not trans based for TC

US maximas do have TC as an option in some years. Plus I would think that it's done via the transmission computer as well which you'll also need for the swap.

Can I just do the 5speed swap? do I need to swap transcomputers too? Does a manual even have a trans computer?

I'd don't care too much about the TC, so I should still be able to do the swap and the TC won't present a hurdle??

Yes it does and without getting one you will most likely have your engine light on.

If I leave the Auto trans computer in will that be enough to fake it I wonder.

I DON'T care at all about the TC, as long as drives normal in manual configuration..

The HLH 5 speed swap instructions don't mention trans computers... so can i just leave the Auto one in?

Where is the Manual trans computer located?
