Help with starting...

I just recently had a transmission swap done by PappaSmurf.
It takes forever to crank, and it backfires a few times in the process or turning over. I checked for codes and these were the only two that showed up:
The Crank Position sensor (The sensor that plugs into the front of the transmission that gets a magnetic sensor off the flywheel) was cracked during the swap, and was throwing a code, so I purchased a new one...

It also threw a code for the Idle/Neutral Position sensor ( the one that plugs into the driverside of the transmission).
So after replacing both, and resetting the ECU, I still have the same problem. There are no other codes showing up, and both sensors are brand new. Is there something that i'm missing here, or I should be checking for?
I really hope to get this fixed on my own, but electrical stuff isn't my favorite part of our cars :X.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Bump....
Both codes are gone, and now 0407 is here....
My starter is good, and I checked the voltage on the wires for the Crankshaft position sensor, and they were good...
I really dont want to take my car to the stealership, but I've got a code thats telling me nothing, and a car that will barely start.....
