00-01 ECU in a 4th gen w/3.5 swap
I've been contemplating the 3.5 swap and was thinking that a 00-01 ECU may be the best if you don't want E-gas. This would be better than a 4th gen ECU since you can advance the timing and may be able to eliminate the need for an RPM switch.
The fuel maps for the higher RPM's for the 00-01 ECU are prolly superior to that of the 95-99ECU.
The question would be with the wiring and connectors....Is the 00-01 ECU wiring more like the 95-99 or more like the 02-03?

When you get the timing advanced in a 5th gen it is only the base timing, not the timing at WOT.
The ECU harness is similar from 00-03.
It would be better to get an 01 ECU and get technosquare to flash the 00-03 Program on it.
