Exclamation Could JWT Compensate?

Okay here's the problem:

Error codes: EVAP and Intake air temp circuit malfunction (Mech says it's reading at -50 degrees, could this cause an idle problem?).
I'm not really sure how to get rid of these two freakin codes!

AND: For some reason my car has had a rough idle since my MEVI install. I've had it checked for leaks and a mechanic at the dealer says that the BPT valve is responsible for a small ticking noise but is not a critical problem. He was not able to diagnose the rough idle.

I don't know why it idles the way it does but my car is a lot quicker than what it was without the MEVI (about 4.5-5 cars difference faster). Low rpm's has a notable loss in power but I've heard that this is normal so i haven't worried about that loss.

Do you guys think that I should still go ahead and get the JWT ecu or go spend hundreds at the dealer to get this problem fixed first?

Nope they cant do nothing with either one there very limited in what they can do.

Buy a new air intake temp sensor $50 and it will fix that. you can put that on with a screw driver. and with the evap there s diff evap codes you must give more info

Alright, I'll check on the EVAP codes and get back to you guys.

About the intake air temp sensor..... I've already got a new one. On the 97 it just plugs in, it's a small plastic piece and it clips in perfectly. I still have the intake air temperature CIRCUIT malfunction reading.

I know that getting a new ECU won't fix these problems NmexMAX, I'm just asking if their ECU would still run on my car/if they had to make any changes that would include these sensors.

Of course it will run, why wouldn't it ... It will run the same but with slightly advanced timing and a leaner a/f ratio under WOT all the way to 7k rpm, unless you wanted a higher fuel cut.

Okay. One question though.... why would it have slightly advanced timing a a leaner a/f ratio(definitely don't want that!)? Doesn't JWT program conservatively and keep the a/f around stoich/rich?

Not according to some recent dynos with a/f .. well not recent but in the past it has shown an unusually lean state

Slightly advanced timing is what you get with the JWT .. Check this forum, there are many different people who have logged their timing ... eng92 is the timing guru .. he's got many timing plots w/ JWT & TS.

An a/f ratio that is leaner than stock but within reason will make slightly more power.

Also the JWT program changes open-loop settings. This is at >40% and ~3000+ RPM. Everything else is like stock.
