never work.

The electronics would not support it.

The 4th uses 16 bit and the 5th uses 32 bit. This would not allow control of the VTC's or the electronic throttle. Also the clearance between the intake manifold and hood would be too close, meaning when the engine I under load, and flexes, it would put strain on the hood supports. Also the corss member is too high on the 4th gen so the oil pan and bell housing would rub.

Best thing to do is buy the AEBS stroker kit, and interchange parts from the VQ30 and the AEBS kit.

Dude you need to swap a K20, so much easier. Vtec can work with the 16 bit ecu, remember?

Hey, it's never too late.

I ended up using an old laptop with a consult II piggyback.

Did you not read the entire Sticky? You didn't even have to get past post #5 to see that all the info is there. It says what 3.5s to use and gives you the 1/4 mile times and even approx 0-60s, since that is much more useful information than what cars it will beat because that is subjective and useless information.

I would think putting in a 3.5 would make you slower, because it's .5 liters heavier.

And yes I can beat them. (99-04 GT's)

Check the 1/4 mile forums to see what A32's have been running when equipped with the VQ35.

You guys are harsh on the new guys. Help the man out. I've been out of the Maxima scene for a while and things have changed around here. Instead of a bunch of useless posts, provide links and information. That's what are here for isn't it?g

It gets old, and spoon feeding isn't our specialty. 5 mins of searching coupled with common sense should suffice with at least some of the asnwers but most 's on here are too lazy, and wont try, at least an honest effort is all we ask.

Everyone here has asked newb questions. I got my Maxima when I was 19 and asked my share of newb questions. I am sure somewhere along the line a OG member here has helped you out. In the old days, you could easily search this forum. It was a lot easier to find information. It's just as easy to copy a link as it is to chastize someone.

Yes, but I none of us OG's were that lazy, and would actually pop our hoods every now and then, and not just post first thing. I admit, I, and most if not all of the old members have asked a stupid question here and there, but it was when the org was young, and we hadn't even scratched the surface as far as custom modifications go, so we had a right to ask, because none of it had been done before, and the information was not on here, but now it is, so there's no excuse.

Spend a morning in the 4th gen forum and you'll see what I mean. People can't find their drain plugs...want to change VQ timing belts, think that intakes sitting in between the exhaust manifold and radiator are still considerd a CAI, buy spark plug wires for the VQ, ...

I'll post a link or 2 and help out, but typically make the rookie try and think, and give them a few hints before I get the spoon and bib out.

Yeah I'm like you and used to say the same thing until I started seeing the same threads over and over again because people didnt search first. If you look in the 4th gen forum and read the titles on the first page you'll see the same ones on the second page. I mean there is a sticky as big as day at the top of this forum that says 3.5 swap procedure and FAQ.

It wouldn't make a difference. Look at post #16. He saw the sticky, maybe clicked on it, but didn't seem to read anything in it.

Jesus tapdancing christ... every single thing you just asked has been answered multiple times in this forum. Stop relying on others and start reading posts to find the answers for yourself. If you have any pipe dreams of ever doing this swap you have to learn how to look things up yourself (hint: donate and search). If you can't do that simple 3 minute operation, you'll never be able to swap an engine into your car.

Yeah.

That was the very first thread posted in this forum. Take note of the extreme sarcasm.

Spoon feeding gets real old real quick.
