Exclamation need help...fuel problem

i just changed my engine and i am having fuel problems
i have a walbro gss342 255lph fuel pump and it has less then 10k miles and was working perfectly fine before i change the engine...
i changed the fuel filter...new has 0 miles on it...
i can start my car with starting fuel but when i stop spraying starting fuel then the car shuts off...
after i started it i pulled out my spark plug and check to see if it was soaked in fuel but it wasnt...
my injectors came off my old motor and was working fine...
is there a sensor that turns the injectors on or off???
i changed my crank(pos and ref) sensors thinking it was that but it wasnt...
need help please

thanks,
russell

I know it sounds stupid, but its happened to even the best. Did you put back the fuse for the fuel pump (assuming you depressurized the system when you swapped motors)?

Did you check to make sure the hose coming from the fuel pump is still connected to the fitting on the level sending unit cover like i suggested?

Then the injectors are faulty or not getting a signal. A motor should start and run even with 2 or 3 dead cylinders to this tells me that there is an issue with all of them. I would measure the injectors' resistance next if i were you.

check to make sure you have pressure in the fuel rail before you go buying new injectors. hook up a gauge if you have one, push in the little valve while cranking if you dont have a gauge and see if gas comes out.

Or u could just do the old mechanic trick.

Get a screwdriver or a ratchet extension. Put one end on the top of the injectors, and your ear to the other end. Have someone crank the car. If you hear a ticking in order "tick tick tick tick tick" that injector is working fine. If you hear "tick.... tick tick tick... tick tick...tick tick tick tick........... tick" then there's something wrong with that injector (assuming others are firing evenly). If no injector is firing evenly, or even firing at all; its very unlikey that all injectors took a shyt. So check the other sensors.

Of course if you actually have a s***oscope, you can use that better, hahaha. Also, you changed both crank sensors, check the cam sensor. My friend had an issue with it in his car in which it it wasnt allowing him to start at random times, and stumble over like it was going to die at others. May wanna swap it with the other motor just to rule it out.

Good luck
