VQ35DE Stroker Kit

AEBS has made a Stroker Kit for the VQ35DE that will make it into a 4.3L, with all the bells and whistles. Im sure the price is up there, but im not sure if its possible for maxima's. I called their number and left a message. Im still waiting for them to get back to me. The Kits only listed for 350Z and G35. But is does show a lot of potential.
here is the link http://www.aebsracing.com/main.pl
I was just interested in some feedback (aside from cost). Thanks

This has been talked about numerous times on this forum. It was very expensive and as far as I know, no one has it. I've also heard they stopped making it. Search around and I'm sure you'll find more threads on it.

welcome to last years thread..

this is a very pricey and I only know of ONE person ..this would be a friend of mines who got a nice insurance paycheck and is building a 4.3L 350z motor.
altho the money to repair the car went into the motor.. so basically hes building a motor for no car.. he plans to swap it in a 240sx.. I will updated anything new .. but its almost been a year since the motor was being built .

The kit itself is in the area of $8K. You also need to find somewhere that can sleve a block. Not all machine shops can do that (well). You could also go with the JUN 3.8L stroker kit:

http://www.junauto.co.jp/news/index-e.html?000046

That runs about $11K, but does not need block sleveing, and would most likely be a wash with the 4.3L AEBS kit.

From a price point, and unless you need to stay all-motor to get around some rules (i.e., racing--and I'm guessing you dont need to get around rules) then a good, ol' 3.5 and turbo setup will cost you about half and put down more affordable power.

I hope that helps.

Screw both of those stroker kits.. both are way too expensive. Find a damn good shop to sleeve your block with darton sleeves, bore them out (I forget how much I think .40 over) and you get 4.0L of displacement. You get forged rods, use chevy 350 pistons and your golden. Thats probably close to 350whp right there with the rest of the bolt ons. If you want more Your heads are going to be very constrictive at this point so you could always get some performance 350z/G35 heads match those heads with high performance cams and some strong valvesprings and you should be able to rev pretty DAMN high and make some pretty silly power N/A. Probably would be an 11 sec car all motor. Pretty solid 10 second car on spray.

Now the question no one has answered for me yet on this combo is how is the stock ECU gonna respond to all this and if you dont use the ECU how do you control it?

but its still a built engine. i bet a 3.5 thats built as well as that would make a ton more. when theyre site finally shows their 3.5 well see.

PS: EVO's are something like 2.2-2.4, not sure, and they make over 400whp with stock internals. its just the ford emblem that makes that focus engine super weak.

Not really. 400 WHP on a stock internal'd EVO isn't too hard at all.

Wow. Just... wow.

A built 3.5 would probably make a ton more since it's a full 1.2L larger lol... more than a 50% increase in displacement.

Evos are turbo charged so that comparison is completely retarded. N/A engines are limited to what they can flow without the aid of something cramming a bunch more air down their throat. You can't compare them to turbocharged or supercharged engines. Also Evos are 2.0L stock, not 2.2 or 2.4 or anything in between.

A stock bottom end Evo put down 558whp and 454tq to all four wheels back last summer at Switzer... they have most likely gone even higher now.

doh- I was thinking of the stock turbos limits not the blocks. Im no evo expert any way, I was just thinking of using one on a second s13 if I sold the max so I just did a little research.
