3.5 swap starts tomorrow, some questions

Got my motor today. 12,xxx for $700.

Couple questions now:

The motor is missing the FPR. I searched around and I've only seen one person running the 95-99 FPR. Can I run the 95-99 until I get a Nismo? Or should I call them and make them send the FPR to me?

Next, the oil cooler was missing. What have people used to close up the coolant hole?

AMAZING DEAL!!!!!!!! What a steal damn. Did you get it off car-part? The FPR is aftermarket ... or so I thought. You can run the 95-99 FPR until you get the new one. The only small side effect is having to deal with gas spraying everywhere, but who cares.

What do you mean "What have poeple used to close up the coolant hole?"
When was there coolant hole closing?

This swap better be covered like a Discovery Channel Documentary. I can't wait.

To run the 3.5 without the oil cooler you have the use the 3.0 thermostat and plug the coolant tube that goes into the back of the block.

Well it is just basics as to why gas sprays. Why does gas spray when you change your fuel filter. It is the same concept. Obviously he is going to start the car with the A32 Fuel Rail setup temporarily.

EDIT: LOL now I get what you were saying. I was saying that gas would spray when you disconnected the lines to swap in the FPR and T-off the lines.

Gas wouldn't spray just from operation though.

Not to challenge any methods or your knowledge Nismo since I know that you know 1000 times more than me, but the FAQ says that you can just swap/bolt the 3.5 oil cooler to the 3.0 Oil pans. Yes it is definitely more work, but I would rather have an oil cooler then not have it. The concept of "not using parts" just seems odd to me. It is bad enough thinking about doing the swap without VTC. Someone needs to do some serious EU testing to try to get it to work or research the Pathfinder 3.0 ECU with VTC. Why did those threads fall out of the ORG anyway. I figured discussion on that would never end.

Well using the oil cooler would be the best option, but the OP said his motor didn't come with one. It's not exactly a cheap item if he wanted to buy it seperately.

Yep, they even delivered it for free. A few things missing, but it looks good. No Engine cover, have to find one.

I'll post a pic later today of how it is set up right now. its not the best, but I think it will work.

No I do not want to use the A32 rail. I just want to use the FPR on the end of it. I'm wondering if the car will operate properly with the A32 FPR.

Ohhh gotcha ... well people used the return-style setup with the stock FPR and it ran fine just not at optimal fuel PSI. I don't see why the stock FPR would not work in this situation, temporarily. I am assuming you are in the process of getting an FPR off ebay or Courtesy now so either way it shouldn't matter.
Did you start the project yet?
Any problems encountered yet?
If so, what would you say has been the hardest part?

I used the stock (2001) FPR, but I also used DE-K injectors. They flow more fuel than the 2k2 injectors.
