stock 97 ecu timing and a/f ratio?

I have an smt6 that I want to install and I have a 3.0 ecu running my vq35. As I understand the 3.0 ecu has more timing advance than the 3.5 ecu, therefore I am worried about blowing up my motor by accident.

Does anyone know the timing and a/f ratios of the 3.0 and 3.5 ecus?

Or has anyone piggyback tuned witht he 3.0 ecu on the vq35?

Thanks

Quite the vague post I must say.

A/F and timing data vary with ambient conditions. eng92 has a timing curve for 3L and 3.5L engines. A quick search a page or 2 back will reveal the data...
You wont blow your engine up as the variance in timing between the 2 isn't that significant. Still use premium grade fuel and you should be ok.

Sorry for the vagueness. I read a lot of the timing posts but I'm still confused about the advance that would come with larger fuel injectors and pulse widths (reading a different part of the timing map at the same rpm).

Since I am using the 3.0 ecu with vq35 (315 cc injectors) wont the timing already be advanced? Correct me if I'm wrong: I won't be able to read the advance caused as a side effect of the larger injectors and therefore I may over advance timing on the tuner .

I know you can monitor pinging, but my car is so loud I wouldn't hear it, and I don't have one of those super knock/det sensors people use for hardcore tuning.

I have I/h/e and TS 3.0 ecu without rpm raise. Should I keep the ts for the better closed loop maps?

I'm just trying to figure out my best course of action.

PS: I didn't find eng93 30 vs 35 ecu info though.

obd2scan.net... ~ 125$ IIRC + a cheap lap top. Or auterra. There are many options...

The only way your timing would be advanced further than stock is if you have an aftermarket ECU, or condition the MAF signal voltage.

I read that if you use larger injectors and lean out the fuel, it raises timing. I was confused about that. How would I be able to tell how much the timing is raised if I were to lean out the injectors (which is already happening since its a 3.0 ecu running 315cc injectors)?

I do have an aftermarket ecu from technosquare, and I am going to wire up my SMT6 very soon (should I use the ts ecu and smt6 together to keep the adjusted closed loop settings?).

The ECU doesn't care which injectors you're running. That has nothing to do with the timing. It's the pulled fuel via MAF conditioning that adds timing. And you'd need an OBD-II to see what the timing is like.

TS adjusts the closed loop settings? I'm not understanding your question.

You never asked for ECU info, just timing and A/F...

TS adjusts the closed loop settings? I'm not understanding your question.

From the graph on post 87 it seems that the timing is slightly higher than stock under 3500 rpm. Open loop only starts after 3000 rpm or 40%+ throttle right?
