Turbo Timer on NA

First off, I have no idea where to post this so I picked All Motor section. My friend got a 2002 WRX, it came with a HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer. I like the fact that it times your 0-60MPH, and 1/4 mile time; also many other times. I know what the function of the timer is for, and I do not need it for that nor do I want it for that. Does anyone have one on an NA car here, also, do you think it's worth it for timing? There around $115 on ebay. How was the instal if you have it?

G-TECH Pro SS Performance Meter is the one your looking for. A little more expensive but if you want to know what your cars got then this is it.

Things it does:
60 ft, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 0-60, and 0-100-0 times, horsepower, torque, and G graphs, cornering and traction lights, and an intelligent shift light to improve your shifting performance.

Me personally it's not worth it. I'll head out to the track and get the actual numbers instead.
I heard there consistent and you can use it's numbers for reference. But when compared to actual track numbers it's way off. So I wouldn't go bragging about the numbers the G tech gives kind of ricey if you ask me..

The thing about the turbo timer is that it is wired up the to RPM and speed signal so the times would be close correct. Unless I'm not thinking into it far enough. Also, the closest track to me is an hour away. I might look into the G-TECH also.

It might give you a close BALLPARK around the figures, but remember these things assume alot of standards for variables to the results. Also, I go to the track about once every 2 months. Im in Miami and the closest track to me is Moroso in West Palm (1.5hrs away @ 85mph). Trust me the track is definatly worth the drive. If you wanna know how fast your car is, go to the track. If you wanna know how much power you have, get the car dyno'd.
