Spare VQ30DE

I currently have a spare VQ30DE from a 99 max with about 40-50k. What I would like to do is build an 00vi for the 99 motor and then swap it into my 97. I heard that the 99 motor is much different with the EGR, and other things. Is this swap possible? Any suggestions?

very possible and good idea to build it outside the car then swap with the motor is ready,this should help cut down times in half (hopefully).

is the 99 motor cali spec?
