Sorry, I caught it out of context and conveniently assumed. Yes, I have a friend who's got his full 3.5 from a local junkyard for 650. So I might as well get the whole piece.

But even when I installed it wrongly, it still ran fine with no vacuum leaks. Just the bolts are kind of hard to screw in. I had to take the LIM out again to match and find out that the LIM was supposed to be installed reversely. Anyways, I'm past the 00vi installation right now. It's done deal, the motor is bad, and we just dont' have time to get it up the rack and take a look, yet.
VQ30DE motor is scheduled to come in today, but since the shop is backed up with 3 motor jobs per day, we're not going to work on mine till about a week or two later.
Update: 2-27-06,
VQ30DE motor is installed and running good. I feel sorry for myself that i dont have a 3.5 anymore. But the V2 supercharger install is going to start within a week or so. I should have done boost from the very beginning. Spent waaaay less and still get more power than the sum of all N/A I've done so far.
It's funny that 2 years ago when I first got the car, I was doing the regular y-pipe and intake mods, and saw the price of supercharging the car as evilish because I wouldnt' spend $3k for any mods. But I end up messing with N/A internals for less than $3k each time I swap or mod a motor, and I end up doing 2 motors per year for 2 years now. Of course, I'm a goofy guy to only realize at this latent timeframe that I should have supercharged it in the very beginning. So that's my VQ story.
As for the 3.5 hybrid motor I got, none of us had the time to open it up to see what the problem is. We're just trying to hurry and get my car running again. So i will keep this 3.5 aside to work on later. I'm speculating a full rebuilt by the end of this year, and I'm seriously looking at the stroker kits as my options.

Got my car back after a 3.0 swap today.
OMG, it's sloooooo-o-o-o-oh! I cannot bare the slowliness anymore. I'm gonna start my s/c project sooner than I thought.
As for the 3.5, we dont' have time to investigate anything yet. I'm leaving the motor at the shop and hopefully one day it gets opened up to be looked at. I will not leave this motor without a conclusion, it may take months for me to report back, but no one will be left guessing what went wrong.
