3.5 non-floating T.C. guide?

3.5 non-floating T.C. guide?
What's up with this, seriously, am I missing something? The 3.0 guide appears to float on its locating pin, which feels SUPER-SKETCHY, yet the 3.5 guide was thickened so as not to float, unless of course I really am mising something. If I'm not I might use a spacer on the 3.0 guide as imho this is a flawed design which nissan realized at some point, what do you guys think about this?
