I remember reading a thread awhile back that listed which cars we could use the 3.5 from. I cant seem to find it but thought it was in the stickys. I remember reading the 04+ was prefered for some reason but can't remember what.
Anybody know where this info is?

 

02-03 Altima and 02-03 Maxima 3.5- No EGR
04+Maxima (not sure of Alty)- Has EGR

One less code to worry about with the 04 and up engines. However, on the 4th gen sticky there should be a write up on how to get rid of the EGR code by soldering in a resistor into the harness, something like that.

 

if you use the 04 motor and use the egr would u still get a code for egr?

 

I used an 02 Maxima motor, removed all EGR components except for the solenoid valve, and didn't get codes.. But then again I had a 95, which may or may not be more lenient on things.

 

95 ECU doesnt throw the EGR code. This was how I "fixed" my 96.

 

so how bad are codes as far as us 99ers go?
can we have a CELless 3.5 swap in the 99's?
