Thumbs up VR38TT Engine shot.

I wanted everyone to chime in and list everything you see note worthy in the engine bay.

The coolant pipe running through the valley and the dipstick location are HR-esque. Looks to me like the intake VVT actuation is elecromagnetic. Interesting UIM design. It'd be nice to get a look at it w/out the engine cover.

Great pic!

A very close intake manifold design to the new Cosworth intake manifold that's coming out. Much different than the HR35/HR37 plastic box intake manifolds

Exactly notice how big those Intake runners are. Cosworth's involvement for sure. Secondly the engine's position pushed back greatly for better weight distribution.

The twin air intake boxes seem to be way up front like a ram air set up for the turbos.

So who will be the first to develop a new intake setup, I can't stand stock intake boxes.

I would love to hear how it sounds then, I bet it will grumble

not that it matters but I see a good setup for doing a FSTB setup for this car, a four point connection system

no offense but thats just stupid to do something like that.

I know we all dream about cars, but my serious opinion about it all is that if you could afford a car over 100K, that money can be put to better good such as donations for starving kids and grant kids wishes stuff like that.

just my opinion

the tube with the BOV is welded directly to the strut tower...im guessing that means they arent expecting much in the way of engine rotation...stiff engine mounts FTMFW!!

why does it have 2 radiator caps
does that the overflow tank is presurized

if not then someone might swap them by accident then there went the motor.....

but dual electric what looks like 2.5in throttlebodies and dual bovs

someone just mighr throw on 2 of those greddt bods in sequental order and hear 2 bovs one after the other

if i suddenly ran into the money to get one id take out everything but the drivers seat and take it on the new 125 flat out

Kinda throws the existing Nissan motor designation scheme out of the window, no fuel delivery or cam configuration listed. I would imagine it would be VR38DETT, or hopefully VR38DDTT, if Nissan will ever give the USDM market direct injection...

People really should stop comparing the GT-R to the Z06. Not that one is necessarily better than the other in absolute terms, but the comparison is pretty baseless considering the engineers were going after different things.

That's true, but since it's coming to America, all everyone cares about here in the states is straight line performance.

The reason they most likely droped the "DE" is Nissan doesnt make any single cam motors anymore so why bother to state the engine is a dual over head cam.

You mean the chamber(s) in the IM? The 3 runners on either side are offset from each other, so that'll mean slightly different designs in either side chamber.

If you mean the individual runners themselves then I think that is just the shading.
